A plug-in vehicle (PEV) is any vehicle that can be recharged from any external source of electricity e.g. wall sockets or from the electricity stored in the rechargeable battery packs that drives the wheels. Vehicles are needed to be attached to the wall socket for charging for a short time period to drive them. Plug-in vehicles can be charged at any place any time on a wall socket.
