Li-ion Motors, a manufacturer of plug-in battery vehicles, has developed the LiV Flash - an electric lithium-ion battery powered car. The LiV Flash was developed using an advanced drive technology, the lithium version of this British invader has a unique personality. With a weight of 2700 lbs (1225 kg) and length of 143.1 inches (3634.7 mm), LMCO’s LiV Flash car reaches speeds of 80 mph. The LiV Flash accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 9 seconds. When fully charged it has a range up to 120 miles. Li-ion Motors LiV Flash uses a high energy density and light weight rechargeable (550 lbs / 250 kg) maintenance-free lithium ion battery packs with life cycles of 2500+ full charges before needing to be replaced. Recharging the LiV Flash batteries is as simple as hooking up to a household electric outlet, it requires a 110-120VAC or 220-240VAC. An advanced LCD touch screen in the LiV Flash provides vehicle operating information including miles remaining, power consumption, each cells' charge level, battery temperature, drive time, distance traveled, and average speed. Li-ion Motors LiV Flash front tires are 195/55R16 87H and the rear tires are 195/55R16 87H. The electric motor on LMCO’s LiV Flash is a 3- phase, brushless A/C motor with 105 hp. Its chassis offers optional four wheels ABS, strut front independent with stabilizer bar and coil springs suspension and rack and pinion steering. The LiV Flash has a ground clearance of 5 inches (127 mm) and a wheelbase of 97.1 inches (2466.3 mm). Li-ion Motors LiV Flash is one hundred percent emissions free because it uses electricity rather than gasoline or other fuels. The electric motor is quite when driving, and with quality sound proof insulators it is free from outside environmental noise as well. The LiV Flash is inexpensive to operate compared with gas or other fuel powered cars. Its power derives from lithium-ion batteries that can be charged from renewable resources like the sun or wind. The LiV Flash is a very practical form of transportation and very convenient for daily use. It can be inexpensively recharged overnight and electricity is cheaper than gas or other fuel. Li-ion Motors’ LiV Flash is very reliable and efficient. The LiV Flash like all electric cars contains fewer parts than a gas powered car, many parts like the catalytic converter, transmission, fuel tank, spark plugs, engine, valves, starter, tailpipe, muffler, distributor or clutch are not needed and not included in electric vehicles. Without these components electric cars require no tuning, oil or filter change and maintenance is minimal.
